Mayor Ty PeabodyA warm welcome to the City of Indian Wells located in the heart of California’s Coachella Valley. We are a beautiful world class resort desert community of over 5000 residents who benefit from our City’s generous amenities and outstanding city staff.

I am the Mayor and we want you to feel welcomed and have a great visit. If you liked your visit tell others, if not, tell me. City Hall is located at the corner of Hwy 111 and Eldorado Dr.

Whether this is your first visit or a returning guest, you are in for an eye-opening visit so get ready to be impressed with our city. With bragging rights to our perfect winter weather, our restaurants, our fabulous hotels, our golf, this is a true desert oasis.

Everyone visiting Indian Wells is greeted by the beauty of Highway 111 in our community and the magnificent signature date palm groves which are lighted every night in keeping with traditional colors of significant holidays.

Five luxury hotels feature top notch rooms, first class spas, restaurants, swimming pools and recreational experiences are available for guests. These top-rated accommodations lie within walking distance of the Indian Wells Golf Resort.

I invite you to visit the Indian Wells Golf Resort - a premier golf destination. Our public campus offers two 18-hole championship courses rated among the top golf courses in Southern California, a state-of-the-art clubhouse, a platinum award winning golf pro shop, and “VUE Grille & Bar” showcasing outstanding cuisine and the spectacular Santa Rosa Mountain views! In addition to the Pavilion which has been added to serve the high demand for corporate events, group outings, and dream weddings.

An evening attraction “Shots in the Night” premiered at the Golf Resort and should not be missed. Featuring glow golf on the driving range, a food truck and laser putting green activities, this unique fun experience is sure to entertain guests of all ages.

Another top attraction is The Living Desert Zoo & Garden which offers the opportunity to experience the desert and the garden, enjoy a wild animal adventure, and hike trails with big horn sheep as spectators.

Indian Wells sponsors or co-sponsors events, activities, festivals, and tournaments. Desert Town Hall is one of the City’s premier events as one of the nation’s pre-eminent speaker series. Each year the world comes to town when Desert Town Hall brings world leaders, media pundits, heroes, and literary giants come to our stage in Indian Wells. Many distinguished leaders have visited our city over the past 27 years – Lady Margaret Thatcher, Shimon Peres, Benazir Bhutto, Condoleezza Rice, Tony Blair, Presidents George W. and George H.W. Bush and Colin Powell, among so many others.

The Indian Wells Tennis Garden is home to the BNP Paribas Tennis Open Tournament held annually each March. This event is the 5th largest tennis event in the world and was named Tournament of the Year by the 2018 ATP World Tour Awards for the fifth year in a row. Top world players love coming to Indian Wells as they enjoy a rare opportunity to play on the practice courts within yards of their fans. If you are a tennis buff, this popular event is not to be missed.

In March, our city offers our annual Indian Wells Art Festival, a celebration of diverse art from over 200 international artists.

Margaritaville USA Pickleball National Championships, a 9-day tournament, is held at the Tennis Garden in November. This fascinating fast sport incorporate all skill levels. Indian Wells is also proud to host IRONMAN 70.3 Indian Wells La Quinta triathlon in December. With a course that features the iconic Tennis Garden, lush courses of the Indian Wells Golf Resort, and our desert landscape, it provides an ideal setting for all participants and spectators.
