The City Council annually assigns one or more Council Members, as applicable, to serve on various City Standing Committee and as the City’s representative on the governing bodies of outside organizations and authorities. Alternates appointed to these outside organizations have the same authority as the primary appointee when the appointee is absent.
The Council spreads the various Council Member assignments to represent or conduct business for the City. Assignments may thereafter be exchanged by affected Council Members at any time without need for approval by the entire Council.

Finance and Legal Services Oversight Committee:
The Finance Committee’s role is to oversee the financial affairs of the City and review and make recommendations to the City Council about the financial affairs and policies of the City. The Finance Committee supports the City Council in the performance of its responsibilities for the protection of the City’s financial well-being, and for the adoption of effective and appropriate strategies for fiscal prudence and wealth preservation. The committee meets on a needed basis.
Marketing Committee:
The Marketing Committee is established to direct and manage the Tourism and Marketing Program. The Committee’s primary responsibility is to increase tourism-related revenue. The committee meets on a needed basis.
Personnel Committee:
The Personnel Committee is comprised of the Mayor, Mayor Pro-Tem, the City Manager and the Personnel Director. The primary function of this committee is to review employee relations, wage, salary and benefits administration. The committee meets on a needed basis.
Public Safety Committee:
The Committee discusses and reviews aspects of public safety in the City. The committee will make recommendations back to Council regarding levels of service, burglaries/robberies, traffic enforcement, fire and paramedic and emergency management issues. The Committee meeting quarterly.
Tee Committee:
The purpose of the Committee is to discuss the reservation of golf rounds allocated to these hotels. The hotels are responsible for holding meetings on a needed basis.
