The City of Indian Wells is grateful for Linda’s dedication and leadership in emergency management over the past three years.
To recognize Linda’s commitment to the City, she received the Excellence in Emergency Management Award at the 2025 Peace Officer and Public Safety Awards Ceremony. This honor highlights her tireless efforts to engage the community and enhance the City’s preparedness and response capabilities.
Linda’s lasting legacy on the Indian Wells community includes the establishment of the Emergency Preparedness Backpack Program. Under her leadership, over 600 backpacks have been distributed, equipping households with essential tools and information. This program not only improved physical preparedness but also sparked meaningful conversations about safety and resilience.

We are excited to welcome Yessica Prieto as Indian Wells’ new Emergency Services Coordinator!
Yessica has been a resident of Coachella Valley for over fifteen years and joined Riverside County’s Emergency Management Department (EMD) in 2022 through the Temporary Assignment Program, where she assisted various EMD teams. After two years, she was promoted to Emergency Services Coordinator, serving communities across the Coachella Valley.
In her new role with Indian Wells, Yessica will help our community prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. Her daily responsibilities include coordinating training and outreach programs, collaborating with partner agencies, and supporting emergency response operations. Above all, Yessica ensures that residents have the resources and information they need to stay safe during critical events.
Yessica looks forward to strengthening Indian Wells’ community resilience through collaboration, preparedness and compassionate service. Be sure to say ‘hi!’ if you see her around!
