Educational opportunities for all ages are located in and around our City:

The Living Desert Zoo and Botanical Gardens

The Living Desert is the only facility in the world dedicated to studying and preserving a single ecosystem. Voted one of the 10 best zoos in the U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler, the facility offers private safari tours, guided walking and behind-the-scenes tours and an extensive events/activities calendar.

Eisenhower Walk of Honor and Veterans Memorial

The 5,000 square foot exhibit pays tribute to General Dwight D. Eisenhower with a bronze bust set upon a red granite pentagon-shaped base. Five flags represent each branch of the armed services and a wellspring signifies the sacrifice made by all those who served. Two granite walls are inscribed with the names of more than 600 Indian Wells residents who served in the military.

Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert

The 18,000 square foot complex includes 50 interactive exhibits, multipurpose Dinah Shore Center, museum store, covered outdoor amphitheater, horticultural gardens and outdoor play areas.

 Indian Wells Hiking Trails

The City of Indian Wells has 3.6 miles of paved pathways for walking and biking. You can also enjoy over five miles of scenic paved and dirt pathways within The Living Desert Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
