Personnel/Risk Department
In addition to his responsibilities as personnel/risk director, Mel Windsor acts as public safety administrator by overseeing fire and community services offices and programs.
Duties performed by Windsor and his department include:
Personnel/Risk
- Managing personnel recruitment and selection
- Coordinating staff training
- Managing the city's insurance programs
- Overseeing the city's emergency preparedness program
Public Safety
- Enforcing federal, state and local codes regarding public health and safety, zoning, land use, property preservation and public nuisances
- Enforcing the sign ordinance
- Investigating citizen complaints
- Conducting property inspections and issuing compliance letters to correct infractions
